Ten years ago I founded CITIG with the goal of helping people and businesses to better utilize technology to improve their personal and professional lives. I have over 20 years of experience in the IT Services industry. I am the technology leader behind CITIG – I make it my business to stay up on all of the latest technology and obtain certifications to prove it. You’ll find me working behind the scenes keeping CITIG running smoothly and steering you towards the most cost effective and functional IT solutions.
Eli Coats, Office and Accounts Manager
As the Office and Accounts Manager I handle purchasing, invoicing, payroll, human resources and everything in-between. My primary goal is to keep your financial transactions with us smooth and efficient. You can reach out to me anytime with all your non-technical questions! Need an invoice copy? Wondering what’s the status of your account? Need to change your address or billing contact? Questions regarding an invoice? I want the excellent experience you’ve had with us technically to continue in all levels of your interactions with CITIG and help maintain the strong foundation of service that sets us apart.
Olivia Newell, CIO (Chief Infant Officer)
We’re still trying to figure out the best position for her. She mostly walks around the office making loud noises, smashing things and trying to eat the Legos. She seems to bring spirits up, but she demands quite the salary.
Drew Hanson, Senior IT Solutions Consultant
On a California-coastal road trip, I stopped in Santa Barbara and instantly fell in love with the city; my wife and I decided to make the move from Minnesota and start a new chapter. I left my job at MindShift, one of the top 5 IT Services Providers in the country and landed a gig with CITIG. Over three years later I am now the IT Consulting Manager. I have extensive experience on both the front lines supporting all our clients as well as behind the scenes managing a hardworking and knowledgeable team. I‘m always looking forward to how we can continue to provide the absolute best service to our clients and assist them in utilizing technology to their maximum benefit.
Leo David, Senior IT Solutions Consultant
Growing up I always had an interest in technology and as soon as I was able to get my hands on my first computer I fell in love. Since then I have accumulated over 13 years of experience in the field of Information Technology. As a Technology Support Specialist for my home town school district I was able to streamline IT at the schools I was assigned to and help increase course offerings for the Science Technology Electronics and Mathematics (STEM) program. During my time at CITIG I have continued to increase my skills and abilities as a network and system administrator. As a Gaucho Alumnus I have always loved this area and I am proud to be a member of CITIG.
Jane Giles, Consultant, Legal Software Specialist
Ever since moving to the USA from England in 1989, I have worked as a software consultant supporting clients throughout the South Coast. Prior to joining CITIG, I worked in programming, analysis, customer service and end user training, and was a consultant with Van Buren Consulting for 25 years. I am a Sage Timeslips Certified Consultant qualified to handle all your billing needs. From installation to conclusion, I will customize the time and billing system best for you whether it be bills in the mail, PDF bills to email to clients or electronic billing. I also offer customization of Microsoft Office and training in both Word and Outlook.
Simon Bentley, IT Solutions Consultant
After moving from New Zealand to the US in 2011 to be closer to my wife’s family, I began working as an independent IT consultant for both Van Buren Consulting and CITIG. After working in the Santa Barbara area for several years, I returned to CITIG with a full-time commitment to our clients. In addition to my IT pursuits specializing in Network Security and becoming a Certified Ethical Hacker in 2019, I am a proud husband and father of three, semi-proud dog
owner of three and a retired Hobbit foot double.
Kyle Sibbald, Desktop Support Specialist
A long time ago, in a city far, far away (Los Angeles), I, Kyle Sibbald, was born. I always dreamed of being a Jedi (computer guru). So, when I found a female Jedi who was strong with the force, and an opportunity at the Jedi Temple (the CITIG office) in Santa Barbara, I began mastering my light saber skills. As a Desktop Support Specialist, I work closely with the other Jedi Knights (CITIG staff) to field incoming requests and keep tickets moving along so that client’s homes and businesses continue to run as smooth as possible. I look forward to expanding my knowledge of the force exponentially in the years to come!
Bob Van Buren, Sr. IT Solutions Consultant (Retired)
In 1985, I started Van Buren Consulting and for nearly 30 years have supported clients throughout Santa Barbara and the neighboring areas. In 2014, with the goal of not only continuing to provide excellent services in a fast-changing technological world, but also expanding our range of offerings, we joined forces with CITIG. Since then, I have enjoyed being able to utilize the CITIG team for technologies and solutions that we were not able to previously offer. Additionally, as I enjoy retirement I’m comforted knowing that CITIG has a quality team in place to continue supporting our clients.
Amber Newell, Activities Coordinator
At CITIG we place great emphasis on the quality of our work environment. We want our employees to love working at CITIG and to love supporting you. My job is to make this happen! You’ll find me floating around the CITIG offices doing things like coordinating birthday lunches, writing encouraging notes, planning holiday celebrations, setting up monthly activities and festively decorating the offices. I bring the Joy to CITIG! My hope is that this Joy extends beyond our employees to you, the customer, in your daily interactions with our team.
Boris Grodzovsky, IT Solutions Consultant
Computers have been a constant in my life. Growing up in Israel with an IT Professional parent, I was continually provided with exposure to new and emerging technology. This background, coupled with my inquisitive nature, provided me with a variety of experiences to learn new ways of tackling technical problems. I leveraged that experience within a broad range of work experiences, including working as a plumber, as teacher at a Montessori School, software developer, and volunteering with the local Rotary Club. This experience all contributes to my well-rounded approach to developing innovative and successful
solutions. In my free time, I enjoy surfing, rock climbing, playing the guitar, and hiking with my wife and son.
Jenica Egan, Administrative Assistant
As a native of beautiful Santa Barbara, I feel right at home working at the CITIG office in the heart of our downtown. Working alongside the dedicated, innovative, enthusiastic, creative, and hardworking team of IT professionals is the perfect addition to my full life of family, friends, fitness, and education. Each day at CITIG I am presented with a variety of opportunities from billing, planning celebrations, to supplying our team with the tools they need to succeed in meeting the needs of all our clients.
As more and more of our lives become digitized we store things on our computers that are simply irreplaceable. Without good data backup, so much of your life can be lost forever. CITIG delivers peace of mind.
